When Refacing Makes Sense
Cabinet refacing works when your cabinet boxes (the structural carcass) are in good condition — no water damage, no rot, no warping. If the frames are solid and the layout works for you, refacing replaces what you see (door fronts, drawer fronts, visible sides) while keeping what's hidden. You get a new-looking kitchen in 3–5 days at 40–60% of replacement cost.
When to Replace Instead
Replace when: the box structure is damaged, you want to change the layout, the existing cabinets are builder-grade particleboard that won't hold new doors cleanly, or you're doing a full gut remodel anyway. Also replace when the existing cabinets are non-standard sizes — refacing requires working with what's there.
The Cost Difference in Flagstaff

What Refacing Changes (and What It Does Not)
